  1. Another great podcast guys. I am much happier with with 7th than I thought I would be. As you guys mentioned, nerf to D, better vehicle damage chart, and jink are all great changes. I agree that summoning isn't as bad as many people fear, but may prove cheesey against armies with no psychers of their own. The ability for six squads of pink horrors to double their number on turn one could be game breaking. Sure you can kill them with a theoretical wyvern but if they get first turn, have fun killing the six to tweleve potential squads they could bring on turn two. Hopefully GW caps psychic dice like they did spell dice in fantasy and this problem could be averted. Invisibility is the new gorilla in the room. Just when they brought Lords of War under control they make it possible so they can be hit only with snaps and 6's in close combat...gross... I do agree with you guys that this edition is now the age of the landraider. Grey Knights, Black Templars, and Dark Angels got a huge boost. Dark Angles in particular with the updated FAQ. Troop landraider with Deathwing Vehicle and a powerfield carrying techmarine sitting inside camping on an objective...have fun shiftting that off. Very happy about the nerf to Baledrakes, but for some reason they countered that by nerfing open-topped vehicles to have templates hurt passengers. Don't get me wrong, it makes sense fluff-wise, but were opened top vehicles so awesome before? Now for the flaming Torquer expected: while I do not see this new edition as a 'money grab' to adopt the attitude of 'if you can't afford it GET OUT' is pretty crass and will not help the game/hobby in the long run. Go take a look at GWs financials since December, they are REALLY hurting and, despite what they might say, I suspect that is the real reason for this new edition release. Maybe not in your area, but X-Wing is HUGE in my area now. The fact that I can buy ten ships which is more than enough to play even a large game for the price of a knight is no doubt eating into GWs profits. I also know at least three gamers who gave up 40k for warmahordes. No doubt GW still holds the lionshare of the market, but other games are breaking that hold especially when veteran gamers can play with models they already own and new gamers are pushed to more affordable games by GW's premium prices. For GW to stay vibrant they need more players not fewer. I love 40k and I know you guys do too, so maybe instead of hating on folks who don't have the disposable income you do, for the sake of game hope GW finds a way to bring its costs/prices down and actually GROWS the community. I can't even imagine what they are going to do once 3D printing explodes...we are almost there too, I just bought some forgeworld landraider doors that were 3D printed on a $500 machine and they were very close to perfect...

    1. The only issue with invisibility is that its random to get it and you have to invest to have a real chance of making use of it. Its a pretty random chance of successfully casting it and the opponent can throw all his dice trying to deny it. It will on occasion be devastating, but just as often fail when needed the most.

There are a lot of games out there and its great, I really hope it forces GW to compete and lower their prices. And while it may be a little harsh, at the same time no one deserves to have a large army right off the bat for cheap. I should clarify my intent better. I do think that players should "get out" if they can't afford it, and what I mean by that is to stop buying models from GW, they should not stop playing the game. More players that stop buying, the less GW makes and the more they have to look at changing. IT will never be cheap enough for most and they will most likely always considered to be overcosted, but it could be better. I will say they have been doing better of actually releasing deals in their boxed sets and as time goes on more will become available to armies. Its a step in the right direction at least.

    2. I agree, the new bundle deals are certainly a positive development.

    1. I agree. After listening through all of your podcasts today you guys dont treat Big Kev fairly. Whenever he tries to enter his two cents he gets shut down fast.

    2. Ive been lurking for awhile now and I thought now would be the best time to speak up, but I agree with Gary as well. Big Kev seems to be treated as the third wheel instead of a member of the podcast.

    3. First of all, thank you for standing up for me, but there is not reason to do so. Im addressing this before it gets out of hand again.

You have to understand that GG is my big brother and Torquer is our friend IRL. We rag on each other and tease and poke and prod. We love it, we revel in it. Its just what we do. So when you see them raggin on me on the podcast, dont take it was "They are jumping on me." Instead see it as good friends around a table discussing 40k and occasionally teasing each other since we are comfortable around each other to do so. So no need to fret on my account, it is primarily their podcast after all so allow them some leeway. Anyways, im off to finish painting a model. If you need to address something personal, please email us instead. Its far more easier for both parties that way.

    4. Wow, that was a fast reply! Thank you for clearing things up. Thought they were just being pricks.

    5. To echo big kev, nothing we do is intended to be malicious. And while we may not discuss it for all the internet, we certainly talk about it behind the scenes and are aware of where we need to improve. Sometimes the way you talk normally does not translate well into podcast form, so its something we are continually working on.

And for the record I am an asshole, sometimes mistaken for a prick, but there are slight differences :p

  3. I am always a prick. I sleep just. Not called Torquer for being nice. As an aside, I love Big Kev in a creepy stalker kinda way.
Oh and DDE, I am crass, rude, and a total asshole. But I didn't say gtfo of our hobby! I said paint my army. Get it straight.
